March 11th Saturday Lecture Series: Mayan Hieroglyphs

Our last lecture of the season will be a brief overview of Mayan hieroglyphs with lawyer and Mayan Archeology specialist (and MEL Board Member) Andrea Slusser. She will provide us with background information on the hieroglyphs (where they are found, when they were in use, etc. ) Participants will learn how hieroglyphs are formed (phonetic component and logogram component) and view some basic examples of common hieroglyphs. Don’t miss this fascinating lecture!
